Capillus vs Igrow Review – Which Laser Cap is Better?

Studies show that laser technology is effective in stopping and reducing hair loss for both men and women with alopecia, pattern baldness, and thinning hair. That has led to the popularity of laser caps and helmets, and you can use them in the comfort of your home. To save you the research time, this Capillus vs Igrow review will help you decide between these two brands.

Introduction

Pattern baldness runs in my family. It’s not enough that the hair thinning was stressing me out all the time. Knowing that I had hair loss waiting to happen just any day was enough incentive to get me searching for a remedy. Finding laser therapy was a godsend, and it’s why you have to read this Capillus vs Igrow review to the end!

Before I came across Low-Level Laser Therapy, I had tried all the options available. Shampoos, vitamins, serums, prescription drugs – you name them. Though some seemed to help a bit, hair loss was still in the cards for me, and I knew I had to find my solution before it was too reverse the condition. My search ended at laser treatment.

Capillus Caps

When it comes to quality, precision, and care in products, Capillus rank pretty high and set the bar for many laser treatment brands in the industry. So far, they are the most expensive; charging higher prices per laser (diode). Either way, they have the technology to back their worth and have their products created in high-level labs.

Coverage

Their main laser caps have 82, 202 or 272 diodes. The more the number of diodes in the cap, the more scalp coverage you get on your head – and the prices as well. Also, with more or fewer diodes, you spend the same time wearing the cap. You wear both the 82-diode and 272-diode caps for six minutes; it all depends on how far your hair loss goes. I picked the 82 hat.

Results

I noticed less shedding in the third month and decided to wait until the sixth month as advised. I used the cap alongside hair vitamins. Sure enough, my hair started getting much thicker than it ever had before as suggested.

Pros

  • Very portable and the carrying case comes in handy
  • Variety for coverage
  • FDA-approved
  • Not limited to indoor use

Cons

  • Very expensive

Igrow Helmet

Igrow uses similar Low-Level Laser Therapy as Capillus to encourage hair growth from the follicles. Unlike the flexible cap found with their counterparts, the Igrow laser device is a helmet – specifically for indoor use, and you get inbuilt headphones for entertainment while undergoing the treatment. Still, this is the product to go for if you’re looking for a cheaper product.

Coverage

I noticed less coverage while wearing the helmet as it mostly covers the top part of the head. There are four flexible columns to help you adjust the hat to a position you feel fit. As for the frequency at which you wear the cap, there were contradictions on the website and the user manual. I wore mine for 30 minutes every day.

Results

I had a bit of a hard time adjusting the helmet, and the user manual seemed outdated. I had to consult with a customer care rep. Though the product was cheaper and the headphones were a fun bonus to the treatment, there were a few noticeable changes to my hair, and they went past the six-month mark.

Pros

  • Cheaper
  • FDA-approved
  • Headphones to keep you entertained

Cons

  • The website isn’t very informative
  • Outdated user manual
  • Took ages to see any changes

Recommendation

It’s pretty clear that Capillus wins in this one. Though on the high-end, you can opt for the 82-diode cap since it is much cheaper than the 272-diode cap.
