Igrow vs HairMax Review – The Laser Cap or The Laser Comb?

With more hair loss occurring all over the world, people are seeking more options to stop and prevent further balding. Growth serums, vitamins, and prescription medication aside, technology is playing its part in helping individuals dealing with alopecia and hair thinning. This Igrow vs Hairmax review focuses on two different modern ways to beat balding.

I only started balding recently – it started with suspicious hair thinning that I figured I could fix with some more washes and fewer hair treatments. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out for me; it was until I consulted with my doctor that I found out I was at risk of developing alopecia, and I had to prevent it before it became permanent. This Igrow vs Hairmax review is about two products that I used in my effort to regrow my hair.

If hair oils, vitamins, and special shampoos don’t seem to be doing your hair any good, combining technology with all or either of the three can improve your odds. Laser technology doesn’t just help with hair removal; you can now use laser treatments also to fight hair loss and encourage healthier hair growth. I got the Igrow laser cap and the Hairmax laser comb to see what I could do for my hair.

Igrow Laser Helmet

The Igrow helmet is a hands-free device you wear on your head for a few minutes a day. There are laser diodes on the inside that emit laser and LED light for Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT) which targets your hair follicles. Once the beams penetrate your scalp, they stimulate hair growth from a cellular and molecular level, leading to a potential spike in hair growth.

How to use

I wore the helmet for 30 minutes every day. Four columns on the inside make it easy to adjust the cap as you wish, and the headphones are a fun addition to the treatment sessions.

Along with the helmet, you get a rechargeable battery, AC adapter, and a user guide to help you start.

  • Cheaper than most laser caps (especially those with more laser diodes)
  • Four columns for adjusting
  • Easy to use
  • Headphones to keep you entertained

  • Might not reach some parts of the head
  • Mostly limited to indoor use

HairMax Laser Comb

Unlike the Igrow device, the HairMax Laser treatment comes in a comb. HairMax has been around for a more extended period, and the clinical studies and Clearances are impressive. Though the comb doesn’t use LED lights, it uses laser light from medical-grade lasers to boost hair growth production from the scalp.

How to use

This particular comb has twelve teeth which have the twelve lasers. One distinct benefit of the laser comb is the ability to comb and get the laser energy directly on the scalp – that way you can get any hair out of the way that would block most of the light treatment. When the laser energy gets to your follicles, it can reverse the hair thinning process, and restore a healthy hair growth cycle.

Along with the laser comb, you get a rechargeable battery, power cord & adapter, and a user manual with a quick start guide for beginners.

  • Easy to use
  • Light and portable
  • Parts the hair to reach the scalp
  • Cheaper than almost all laser caps

  • Not as hands-free as a laser helmet

Both products worked well for me though they have their pros and cons. I’d recommend Igrow for extensive hair loss at the top of your head, and if you can find 30 minutes indoors every day. Still, you can opt for HairMax if you’re often on the move and have minimal hair loss or thinning.

Marie Stevenson

Having been a victim of counterfeit products Marie Stevenson decided to comb various markets both online and physical to find the best original beauty products for women. The influx of counterfeits is palpitation inducing especially when you consider the aftermath. The consequences of using fake makeup or tanning lotions can be quite expensive and life-threatening and the reason why Marie decided to provide you with insightful information that will actually enhance your health. Apart from saving the world from the influx of fake beauty products Marie is a dedicated environmentalist, loves to travel and read. Her famous line is that if you believe it and have the passion to do something right then don’t let someone else discourage since they don’t understand where you are coming from.
