True White Whitening Natural Activated Charcoal

You know True White have whitening gels for your teeth, but did you know their activated charcoal powder does wonders for your teeth as well? If you’re looking for true whitening system charcoal reviews, look no further.

I’ve had amazing teeth since I was a kid. I have my parents to thank for that – strong, even, and white teeth. Admittedly, I took that for granted in my twenties. From the coffee mornings before rushing to work, and the junk-filled lunch hours to the late evenings out for drinks; my teeth had a story to tell!

We cannot blame ourselves for activities we do and the stuff we put in our mouths – at least not all the time. We live in a fast-paced world, and sometimes we forget to watch our health. If your work does not require a bright smile and shiny teeth, it is no surprise that the state of your teeth is the last thing on your mind.

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take care of our teeth. After all, your smile can tell people a lot about you. You do not want to smile at your colleagues or your date and watch them cringe slightly at what they see. I know my yellowed teeth took a toll on my confidence, and I went out of my way to fix that.

If you have never had to worry about whitening your teeth, diving into the teeth whitening world can be confusing and overwhelming for some. There are whitening pens and strips, whitening trays (sometimes with laser treatment), and some people even opt for crowns and veneers. There are procedures at your dentist’s that can whiten your teeth in a few minutes, albeit temporarily.

Choosing a teeth whitening option was not that tough for me. In my thirties, my teeth had become slightly sensitive. Though I hadn’t developed any dentures or chips, I was not willing to expose my teeth to more sensitivity. Teeth whitening gels contain amounts of peroxide (carbamide or hydroxide) that help in the whitening process.

The peroxide levels are usually safe, but the only way you would know which percentage is best for you – depending on your teeth – is by consulting with your dentist. I did not want to try out the gels. I needed something close to a natural option, and with fewer chemicals, which is how my dentist recommended activated charcoal. I never looked back.

Looking for a great brand took a while until I came across the true white whitening system charcoal edition: it was pretty natural and had some good reviews. It was easy to use, and I could notice some change in a few days.

The whitening didn’t occur overnight. It took adherence to the instructions and a few tweaks to my diet. I had to tone down the coffee and brush my teeth immediately to minimize stains from other foods and drinks.

After two months, my pearly whites were back. I didn’t stop using the true white whitening system. As long as it worked for me without having to resort to harsher measures, I was sticking to it.

Product Description

There’s no huge difference between activated charcoal and the regular charcoal under your barbeque. However, activated charcoal is more for medical purposes like treating gas and lowering cholesterol in the past; meaning it is safe for you.

TrueWhite Teeth Whitening Activated Charcoal Powder

Having sensitive teeth makes you realize how important it is to invest in a teeth whitening that will not make it worse. You need a product that is chemical-free and gentle on your teeth and mouth. The TrueWhite powder is quality fine grade charcoal that is gentle on your teeth but tough on any stains.

Coconut charcoal is the active ingredient in this TrueWhite product. Though normally tasteless and odorless, this powder has lemon, orange, cinnamon, and mint flavor, which help give you fresher breath.

TrueWhite activated charcoal wasn’t just gentle on my teeth. Unlike whitening gels that can irritate your gums and any soft tissue in your mouth they come into contact with, activated charcoal keeps your gums and mouth healthy and clean. One major plus for your breath.

Lots of people avoid using activated charcoal because it can be messy. Honestly, it can get messy. One look at your mouth when you’re brushing with the powder would make you think the black will not go away. You just have to rinse your mouth out completely when finished and suck the water through your teeth. Read till the end, and I will guide you on how I used it.

  • Easy to use
  • Effective even after very few uses
  • Long-lasting
  • Gentle on sensitive teeth and gums
  • Natural and safe

  • Slightly expensive
  • Slightly messy

Comparable Products

Obviously, the beauty and cosmetics industry is wide and unlimited. Many other brands have activated charcoal of their own. I had the opportunity to use these products before landing on true white whitening system customer reviews and switching to a final brand.

  1. Roadwi Teeth whitening charcoal products natural

The first thing that caught my eye with the Roadwi whitening charcoal was that it was quite affordable. Even after pairing it with the 5 Pack Charcoal Toothbrush, the deal was good. I had dedicated toothbrushes for my charcoal whitening routine. I used this brand for around three months.

The instructions included using a small amount first to test if your teeth (or mouth) are sensitive to the charcoal, which I did. I could feel a difference in my teeth after a week. I dipped my toothbrush in the powder and brushed every morning and evening; making sure to rinse the powder all out when finished.

After some weeks, I could feel some irritation in my gums. I figured it had to do with the product since I had not tried out anything new – plus they had pointed out a likelihood of sensitivity. Skipping the whitening process brought my gums back to normal, but the stains would get right back on my teeth.

I had to brush once a day with the Roadwi activated charcoal to prevent the unpleasantness in my gums. Though it helped in minimizing the stains slightly, brushing once a day meant less effectiveness in the whitening process.

  • Pocket-friendly
  • Dedicated toothbrush along with the charcoal
  • Smoother and cleaner teeth when used twice a day

  • Chalky taste, nothing like the intended spearmint
  • Sensitivity in teeth or gums

YALFEN Teeth whitening charcoal powder

This YALFEN brand of teeth whitening products is affordable and comes with a bamboo toothbrush. If you’re lucky, you may even get it at a huge discount. I was a little wary about buying a new whitening product that would end up making my gums or teeth tingle. So I settled on a cheaper option that had good reviews.

Like most activated powders, brushing with the charcoal at least twice a day is important. Also, to fully get rid of the black, make sure you rinse your mouth out thoroughly and brush with your regular toothpaste afterward. It is best to have two toothbrushes for these two routines.

Unfortunately, my new toothbrush that came with the product had soft bristles. They fell out in my mouth sometimes while brushing my teeth with the charcoal. I didn’t notice much of a difference with the whitening unless I used it more than twice. Sometimes I thought I could notice a slightly brighter change. Other times, my teeth color was the same.

With most teeth whitening products, it is common to have varying results. I guess it was just my luck the powder did not give me the results I expected. The best I got from this charcoal was smoother teeth and fresher breath.

  • Pleasant peppermint hints
  • Fresher breath
  • Smoother teeth
  • Comes with toothbrush

  • Took more than two uses a day for results
  • Half-full jar
  • Faulty toothbrush

Britor Teeth Whitening Charcoal

I had become somewhat a pro with activated charcoal, so I didn’t have to read the manual that came with my Britor package. If you haven’t tried charcoal whitening, make sure you read it though. Be careful while opening the jar. I created a mess when I opened it up and had the powder all over myself, but the contents looked fine.

As usual, I bought a different toothbrush for my charcoal whitening purposes. I used the powder once a day to minimize any chances of sensitivity – plus they were the instructions before I decided to buy the product.

After one week, there were some changes. My teeth looked less stained than usual, and I only felt slight disturbances in my gum and teeth once in a while. For that, I made sure I spent more time rinsing the powder out and brushing with my usual toothpaste. Everything was going well until I idly did some further research on the ingredients. I wanted to purchase another jar.

Sadly, it seemed like one of the ingredients was Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate. This is a synthetic chemical compound used in hygiene and cleaning – if you dig deeper, studies consider this compound a ‘moderate’ hazard. It’s safe to say I did not make the next purchase as I intended.

  • Smoother and whiter teeth
  • Pocket-friendly
  • Long-lasting

  • Possibly harmful chemical ingredient
  • Plain taste – no flavor

How To Use Whitening Activated Charcoal

Some types of activated charcoal come in the form of tablets that you have to crush and make a paste before using. I found it much easier with whitening charcoal that comes in jars – saves money sometimes too!

  1. Open your package carefully. Some jars don’t have seals beneath the lid. You may end up making a mess if there is some powder hanging around the lid. Best open it over your bathroom sink.
  2. You don’t have to brush your teeth before using the product. Just moisten your toothbrush with some water, and dip it in the charcoal powder.
  3. Don’t use too much charcoal. I use a little amount at a time as work around my teeth.
  4. Also, it’s best not to walk around while you brush. You do not want to mess your tiles or carpet with soot black drops.
  5. Brush for two minutes and make sure you are gentle about it. Don’t be alarmed if you look like the walking dead right about now.
  6. Once you’ve covered all bases, rinse all the powder out with a lot of water. Rinse out the brush too and maybe set it aside for your charcoal whitening purposes.
  7. Though activated charcoal is safe, avoid swallowing or risking contact with your eyes. If you have cuts or open wounds in your mouth, I’d suggest canceling the procedure.
  8. Sometimes the charcoal gets stuck in your teeth and gums. I use another toothbrush to brush using toothpaste as usual. You can brush without the toothpaste if you want to, just use plenty of water.
  9. Flossing can also help you get rid of any stuck charcoal in between your teeth.

How Activated Charcoal Works

Activated charcoal contains large pores. On yellowed teeth caused by plaque and staining, the pores bind with the stains. You have to give the charcoal enough time on your teeth to attach the plaque and surface stains to the pores.

Once the staining particles latch onto the activated charcoal, you can now rinse the charcoal out. Smoother and brighter teeth are a result of the charcoal taking the staining particles away with them.

However, activated charcoal may not help with deep stains and yellowing that is deep in the teeth. If you notice that your teeth are still yellowed and dull after using a good charcoal product for a while, it might be time to consider professional bleaching.

Apart from natural remedies at home, TrueWhite Whitening Natural Activated Charcoal is a great way to start your teeth whitening routine. Not only is it effective, but it is also safe. Depending on your toothy situation, it would be a good idea to consult with your dentist regarding teeth whitening with charcoal.
